AI should be empowering, not fear inducing. Period. Are we there yet? No, I don’t think so.
One of my core philosophies around the use of AI is that it should empower me to focus on what makes me special, what skills I can cultivate, what talents I can enhance. For example, I want AI to help me become a better writer. I do not want AI to be writing for me.
How do I use AI to become a better writer?
If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.
Stephen King
One: I can use AI to correct my spelling and grammar while educating me on the rules behind those suggestions. Two: it can help me write more.
One of the projects I am working on in my personal time is this Day One -> to -> AI Agent workflow. I’m code naming the project Day Two, because it’s what follows Day One. The goal of the project is to allow me to spend more time with my fingers on the keyboard and less time organizing ideas, distributing posts, and storing data. My hope is that I can use Day One, all day, every day, and let the AI agent ingest, and metabolize my writing and then feed it back to me.
Going forward I will be writing — old-blog-style — updates here on how this project is progressing. Follow along if you’re interested. My plan is to eventually open source it so everyone can benefit from it.
